Principal's Welcome

It is my pleasure to greet all new and returning St. Gregory families to the 2019-2020 academic year.

As the incoming Principal, I am excited to be returning home to this wonderful school. I was a student at St. Gregory School when the portable classroom doors first opened in 1988. I was an excited 4th grader when they broke ground for the new building. My Confirmation and grade 8 graduation ceremony were held in the current facility we have today. I have very fond memories of excellent teachers and a strong sense of community. I look forward to contributing to the next chapter of our school’s history.

The St. Gregory staff are an experienced and dedicated team. Our commitment to provide the best education for your child is visible through our unique programming available to all students. Our Early Learning Kindergarten Program is rooted in play-based and inquiry learning to benefit our youngest learners. We offer extended French-as-a-Second Language instruction from Kindergarten to grade 8. Our school maintains a safe and welcoming environment with unique learning spaces that offer pedal desks and other kinesthetic and sensory learning tools that benefit all of our students.

All of our efforts demonstrate a commitment to the development of the whole person. Rooted in traditional gospel values, we seek to provide a total education – spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional and social – in which the true worth of each person is recognized and promoted.

Catholic education is best served through partnership between home, school and parish. As such, I welcome all parents and guardians to consider how you can actively participate in your child’s education and our school community.  I invite all members of the school community to drop in and connect or reconnect.
Should you have any questions, concerns or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me either by e-mail at or by telephone at 705-724-3482.

Yours in education,
Emmanuel Rick
