Principal's Welcome

It is my pleasure to welcome all new and returning St. Gregory families to the 2020-2021 academic year.

I am excited to see our students return to our learning environment during these challenging times. Moreover, I am committed to maintaining a safe and healthy learning and working environment for our students and staff. This year will continue to present challenges that will require students, parents and staff to be flexible and keep the safety of our community members at the center of our actions.

The staff at St. Gregory are an experienced and dedicated team. Our commitment to provide a high quality Catholic education for your child is visible through our unique programming. Our Early Learning Kindergarten Program is rooted in play-based and inquiry learning to benefit our youngest learners. We offer extended French-as-a-Second Language instruction from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Our school maintains a safe and welcoming environment with ample outdoor space that is reflective of Powassan and the surrounding area’s vast agricultural heritage.

All of our efforts demonstrate a commitment to the well-being needs of all students. Rooted in traditional gospel values, we seek to provide a total education – spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional and social – in which the true worth of each person is recognized and promoted.

Catholic education is best served through partnership between home, school and parish. As such, I welcome all parents and guardians to consider how you can actively participate in your child’s education and our school community.

This year more than any other, will present us all with unique situations and circumstances. It is my goal to work with each of our families in a flexible and supportive manner.

Yours in education,

Emmanuel Rick

Principal
